Mommy's Night Out...uh-oh, here comes the guilt!

Modern mommies all over the world struggle with feeling guilty about their desire to build a career for themselves, or to go out sans children. Basically doing anything that involves allowing themselves to be at the center, or to come first, and the guilt insidiously creeps its way into their conscience. And what about the caregivers while they're away? It's hard for many moms not give their husband, or babysitter, the reigns without making them listen to redundant, commonsense instructions and answer twenty questions upon their return. I will admit that I am full of questions after a night away from the kids. But while I'm out with my friends, I try to let my worries go. And I am able to do so- most of the time. I know that daddy takes excellent care of our girls. It's also necessary for me to be off mommy-duty sometimes, and it allows the girls to grow their bond with daddy. It's another thing that we mommies strive to find balance in. We just need to reassure ourselves that we aren't the only ones that can change diapers and play games with our children! And better yet, we aren't the only ones who should! Everybody needs the smile of a little one in their life, don't you think?
